Internships

Our Washington D.C. office offers internships in the summer, spring, and fall. During the school year, we are happy to be flexible and work with your class schedule. Our interns have the opportunity to get hands-on exposure to the legislative process and get to understand how a congressional office runs and operates. Interns’ responsibilities include answering the phones, running errands, attending hearings, and giving tours of the Capitol. You will work very closely with our staff, who are happy to help you get experience and provide insight into whichever aspect of the federal government you are interested in. When Congress is in session, the hours are usually from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the times we are out of session, it is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you enjoy a fast-paced work environment, where no two days are the same, or would like to know more about what working on Capitol Hill is like, apply to be an intern! You can also email our intern coordinator, Madison Newsom, with any questions: Madison.Newsom@mail.house.gov

Please complete and submit the form below to apply for an internship in one of our offices. Ensure that you have your cover letter and resume ready to upload at the end of this form. Submitting these documents is required.
