Congressional App Challenge
I am pleased to announce that my office is hosting a 2026 Congressional App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The Challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education.
This competition is open to all middle and high school students who live in or attend school in Texas’ 6th Congressional district. To confirm your federal representative and congressional district, please click here. Students can enter individually or as part of a team of up to four members. Each participant may only submit one app and may only compete in one district. We strongly encourage students of all skill levels to participate and learn how to create their own apps. This competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.
Students can code their app in any language, for any platform, using any tools they like. Any app coded after October 30, 2025 is eligible. Examples of eligible apps:

Applications for the 2026 Congressional App Challenge are now open. The deadline to submit an application is October 26, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET.
