Congressional Veterans Commendation

The Congressional Veteran Commendation is a nominations-based program that recognizes both the military service and continued community contributions of Veterans living in Texas’ 6th Congressional District. These honorees are exceptional Americans who have honorably served our nation as members of the United States Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, and Coast Guard.

Nomination packets may be submitted by the Veteran or by a nominator with the Veteran’s permission. All submissions are reviewed by a selection board, which provides recommendations to the Congressman. Recipients of the Congressional Veteran Commendation will be formally honored later this fall.

Following the submission of this nomination, a complete nomination packet will be sent to the nominator via email. This packet will include detailed instructions, required forms, and supporting documentation needed to complete the nomination process. Nominators are encouraged to carefully review all materials and ensure that the packet is fully completed and submitted by the stated deadline. Incomplete or late submissions may not be considered by the review board.
