Tours and Tickets

We have been made aware that as part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the White House complex, construction projects are scheduled throughout the month of September. To ensure the safety of visitors and to allow this work to move forward without interruption, all public tours will continue to be temporarily paused during this time.

Because tours will not be available, the online booking portal will also be closed for the month of September. Visitors will not be able to schedule tours during this period.

The Visitors Office is working closely with the White House team to ensure that once construction is completed, tours can resume as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Please note that while White House tours are paused, the U.S. Capitol remains open for public tours.

Tickets are free, and provided on a first-come first-served basis. If my office is unable to secure a congressional tour for the sites you selected, most locations are available for public tours. Please visit house.gov for information about public tour information for many of the sites in Washington D.C.

Admittance is determined by the individual tour site or agency, not by the Congressional office. Unless specified, tours are available Monday through Friday.
