WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Ellzey joined his colleagues in filing a Supreme Court amicus brief in the case Donald J. Trump v. Norma Anderson.

In the case of Trump v. Anderson, the U.S. Supreme Court is currently considering whether former President Donald Trump should stay on the ballot in the State of Colorado. This comes after the Colorado Supreme Court's decision to remove him, despite his current status as the leading candidate for the Republican Party's Presidential nomination.

“The American people, not our court system, should be deciding who our Presidential nominee is,” said Ellzey. “I am proud to join Leader Scalise, Senator Cruz, and 176 of my colleagues in filing this brief. The Colorado Supreme Court’s decision sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the integrity of our constitutional republic. We cannot allow one court’s decision to circumvent the will of the people, to infringe on our elections, and to disregard our Constitution’s separation of powers.”
