Congressman Ellzey Joins Leader Scalise’s Offshore Energy Tour

Waxahachie, TX—This weekend, after confronting Interior Secretary Deb Haaland on the unprecedented bias against oil and gas production, Congressman Ellzey joined House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La) and four of his colleagues, Congresswoman Julia Letlow (R-La.), Congressman Cliff Bentz (R-Ore.), Congressman Mike Collins (R-Ga.), and Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-Ill.), for an offshore energy tour at Chevron Corporation’s Anchor oil and gas production platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Throughout our visit, we delved into the intricacies of energy exploration and production in this region. It was an eye-opening experience that shed light on the critical role the Gulf plays in our nation’s energy security,” said Ellzey. “During our visit, it became clear that we cannot ignore the concerning trend of unprecedented delays in issuing the 5-year lease plan by the Biden Administration. These delays, coupled with a reluctance to hold lease sales, pose a significant threat to both our energy security and the livelihoods of hardworking Americans.”
