Project Description and Statement of Public Benefit: Law Enforcement and School-Based Training to Prevent Opioid and Fentanyl Abuse in TX-06. The training sessions will include law enforcement and community partners with localized data to directly address the opioid crisis and improve public safety. The School of Nursing will also organize town halls in TX-06 communities to educate citizens about the presence of and deadly consequences of illicitly manufactured opioids and distribute naloxone (Narcan) to save lives and safe drug disposal kits to prevent diversion of unused prescription drugs.
