Congressman Jake Ellzey Appointed to the Veterans’ Affairs and Science, Space, and Technology Committees

On August 19th, Congressman Ellzey received his U.S. House Committee assignments. Since taking the Oath of Office three weeks ago, Ellzey has been working closely with Republican House Leadership. “I want to thank Leader McCarthy for his support and assistance during my first weeks in Congress. I am grateful for the trust he has put in me to help steer our county back in the right direction. We need conservative solutions to America’s greatest challenges, and I look forward to working with Leader McCarthy and my Republican Colleagues to overcome those challenges.” said Ellzey.

"It is an honor to be appointed to the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. I’ve said repeatedly that taking care of our military veterans is a top priority. As a retired Navy officer, my background gives me a unique perspective that will be an asset as I work to help our veterans. I’m looking forward to working with Chairman Takano and Raking Member Bost, and all members of the committee to craft good, strong legislation, and provide effective oversight of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs," said Ellzey.

"The Veterans’ Affairs Committee is critical in ensuring that the men and women who sacrificed so much for our country are taken care of when their time of service has ended. As a Navy veteran, service on this committee holds a special place in my heart.”

Rep. Ellzey continued, “I am grateful for being appointed to the Science, Space, and Technology committee. The sectors of the economy and the leading industries to which the committee has jurisdiction are important to the United States, but especially important to Texas. This committee is tasked with further advancing America's place as the world leader in scientific development, technology, and research. I look forward to serving with fellow Texan, Chairwoman Johnson, as well as Ranking Member Lucas and all members of the committee."

"I'm fortunate that both of these committees will allow me to represent Texas' 6th District in significant ways and continue my work on behalf of the great people of Tarrant, Ellis, and Navarro Counties."
