Project Description and Statement of Public Benefit:

The requested federal funding will allow Arlington to build on and sustain the DFR program infrastructure through a five-year subscription and support period. By continuing to invest in technology that reduces response times, improves decision-making, and enables more efficient deployment of personnel, the Arlington DFR system can continue to save lives and strengthen community trust.

The proposed Drone as First Responder (DFR) system will be delivered through an integrated hardware and software services model. This structure includes the drone airframes, secure docking stations, charging systems, sensors, and associated launch infrastructure, along with the cloud-based operating platform, remote flight management software, data storage, cybersecurity protections, firmware updates, system maintenance, and user licenses.
