Joint Statement with Congressman Ellzey and Representative Cook on Active Shooter at Timberview High in Arlington

At 9:15 am this morning, there was a shooting at Timberview Highschool in Arlington, Texas. Police arrived on the scene shortly after getting reports that there were shots heard in the hallways. Arlington PD has two officers stationed on the school grounds, and they responded immediately.

Police have reported that there were four injured. Three were taken to the hospital, and one with minor injuries.

"I am thankful for the quick response from the Arlington PD, Mansfield PD, ATF, and the FBI and the hard work of the facility, staff, and teachers at Timberview Highschool. Shelby and I send our thoughts and prayers to all of the students, parents, faculty, staff, and first responders," said Ellzey.

"Tonya and I are saddened by the news of today's shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington," Representative Cook said. "Please join us in offering our prayers of recovery for those injured, and for the continued safety of first-responders who now work to resolve the situation and ensure that students are returned to their families."

Timberview parents are being asked to pick up their children at the Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts located at 1110 Debbie Lane, Mansfield, TX 76063, where the students have been transported.
