Congressman Jake Ellzey Marks House Appropriations Committee Completion of All 12 FY2027 Funding Bills
June 26, 2026
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jake Ellzey (TX-06), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, recognizes the committee's completion of all twelve Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills, marking a return to regular order and the constitutional responsibility of Congress to fund the federal government through a transparent, disciplined process.
As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the House Appropriations Committee has advanced every annual appropriations bill through subcommittee and full committee consideration, restoring a process centered on accountability, oversight, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
"One of Congress's most important constitutional responsibilities is deciding how the American people's tax dollars are spent," said Congressman Ellzey. "I'm proud that the House Appropriations Committee has completed all twelve appropriations bills through committee and returned to regular order. That's how the legislative process is supposed to work.
"We've debated priorities in the open, exercised meaningful oversight, and produced funding bills that strengthen our national defense, support our veterans, secure our border, invest in critical infrastructure, and protect taxpayers. As a former Navy fighter pilot, I know our men and women in uniform deserve the resources they need to deter our adversaries and, if called upon, win decisively.
"This process isn't about politics; it's about fulfilling the duty the Constitution gives Congress. The House has done its work, and now it's time to pass these bills and continue proving that responsible governing is still possible."
The House Appropriations Committee has completed action on all twelve annual appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2027, reaffirming Congress's Article I responsibility to establish national priorities, conduct oversight of federal agencies, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and effectively.
