Priority Issues
National Security
Job number one of any government is to protect its people. As a former Navy Commander, I am a strong advocate for policies that will increase support for our Armed Forces and our National Security. Now, more than ever, America's leadership on the global stage is critical. As we enter a new age of military tactics and warfare, we must stay up to date in our technological capabilities by continuing to fund our military's research and development to stay ahead of foreign adversaries. Some of my efforts include:
- Cosponsored H.R. 4792, the Countering Communist China Act a bill providing sanctions on certain peoples’ visas and property who infringed on intellectual property on behalf of the Chinese government
- Voted “YES” on H.Res. 1130, supporting the inclusion of Finland and Sweden into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which will protect our Allies in Europe and deter future Russian aggression.
- Cosponsored H.R. 7302, the Cyber Deterrence and Response Act of 2022 a bill placing sanctions on actors participating in cyber threats.
